Staying at The Brothers was such a unique experience! The hotel was charming and cozy, reminding me more of a B&B than a traditional hotel. I loved the interesting history and character of the place, although my room was a bit on the smaller side. The service was exceptional and personalized, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The location offered amazing views, but be prepared for a steep walk back to the hotel. Overall, a memorable stay with a couple of minor drawbacks.

My room was small but immaculate and offered stunning views over the city. It had a cozy atmosphere, but the size was a bit limiting.
Service

The service was incredibly personable and attentive. Rod, the owner, went out of his way to provide excellent advice on local attractions and even had a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir waiting for us upon arrival.

The hotel is on a steep hill, providing breathtaking panoramic views of Dunedin. While it is within walking distance to the town center, prepare for a workout on the way back up!

Breakfast was a pleasant continental spread with fresh bread and delicious raisin bread being my favorite. It was basic, though, so I could see how some might want more variety.

The common areas were beautifully decorated and felt like stepping into a little museum, adding to the charm of the hotel. However, Wi-Fi could be improved as it was a bit slow during my stay.

Our stay at the hotel was enjoyable, largely thanks to the unique character of the building and the warm hospitality we received. The Chapel Room had an impressive design, though it felt a bit basic at times. The continental breakfast was included, but I found it to be somewhat plain. The location on a steep hill was convenient for accessing Dunedin, but the lack of certain amenities left me wanting.

Rooms

The Chapel Room was impressive with its stained glass windows, but it felt a bit spartan and lacked some essential amenities. The ensuite shower room was particularly tiny, which detracted a bit from the stay.

Rod, the owner, was incredibly helpful, providing recommendations for local attractions and restaurants that significantly enhanced our experience.
Location

The hotel is located on the side of a steep hill, which was a bit of a workout, but it was still easy to walk down to the city center.

The continental breakfast was fine but fairly basic, featuring cereals, fresh fruit, and a few bread options. Nothing too special, though it was included in the stay.

The hotel retained much of its original character, but could use some updates to enhance the experience.

I had a delightful stay at this charming hotel. The unique character and homely feel were truly special, complemented by the friendly staff who made me feel welcome. While the rooms are cozy, they might not be ideal for those seeking more space, and the street noise in the morning can be a bit loud. However, the complimentary breakfast and evening drinks were a nice touch, making it a great value overall.

I had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel, which truly felt more like a cozy B&B than a traditional hotel. The unique history of the building added charm, and the host was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. The only downside was the small room size, which can be a bit challenging if you're looking for more spacious accommodations. Overall, it was a delightful experience, especially given the excellent breakfast and fantastic location close to the city center.

My stay at The Brothers had its ups and downs. The charm of the place and the hospitality of Rod were definite highlights. However, I found the room to be quite small for my needs, and the steep hill back to the hotel was a challenge. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with some reservations.
